First if the files are still in a compressed (.zip) format DO NOT UNZIP THEM YET, but save the zipped file to a suitable location.
If the files are not unblocked before un-zipping the program will not work!!
Right click on the zipped file and look at properties. If at the bottom of the properties it says "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer" click on Unblock then apply. Properties may be closed and the files may now be extracted to a suitable directory.

There are two separate boards in the SRU2/SRU2i, the main controller board and the display board. Each board has separate firmware. The two versions currently installed can always be seen by going to menu 24 and entering 2. Ensure the correct firmware is installed in each board. The display board firmware can only be upgraded using a special custom made cable, which plugs into the SD card socket and has a USB connector for a PC at the other end. The main board firmware can be updated using either a direct RS-232 or USB cable. RS-485 will not work.

To upload new SRU2 / SRU3i / ADCM / Spooler Main board firmware:
1. Use either a direct RS-232 or USB cable. RS-485 will not work. The Spooler requires a special converter cable, USB to 3 pin.
2. Right click on iCON-SRU2BootloaderV151.exe program and run as administrator.
3. Select appropriate comm port. If the comm port number is unknown may click refresh, if get 'unable to open com port' error then try next com port, or use control panel to identify the comm port. Can also use control panel to change com port number to a lower number if it is above 8.
4. Set baud rate to 38400. Click on the 'Force' button. This should place the SRU2 into bootloader mode and turn on some LED's. It will only stay in this mode for a few seconds.
5. Set baud rate to 115200.
6. Click on the 'Connect' button. Program should confirm connection to the SRU2. Select 'Load Hex File' and load appropriate hex file. DO NOT install display F/W in main board!!
7. Click Erase-Program-Verify. Should take a minute or so to complete and give a successful message.
8. Cycle power to SRU2 / SUR3i / ADCM and it should be upgraded.
